A simple reflection sheet

Sometimes "How did it go?" gets you no further than "fine" or "not great".

A few more specific questions can help. Use the short sheet below after a walk or run, at the end of a week, or when a routine needs another look. Copy it into a notebook or private note if you'd like to keep it. You don't have to answer every line.

Your blank copy

Date or period: ____________________

What did I plan, and what actually happened?

What helped? Think about place, company, timing, access, or preparation.

What got in the way, or needs attention?

What is one useful next decision? It can be an action, a question, or a pause.

One example

"I planned an evening run, but work finished late. I walked the short lit route instead."

"Being close to home helped. I didn't need a drive or much preparation."

"The longer route doesn't fit this time of day."

"I'll keep the local walk for late finishes and check whether Saturday suits the longer session."

That's enough to work with. No mark out of ten required.

Keep it useful, and keep it yours

Write what you might want to remember. If the week was hard, say that. If the walk was enjoyable, you don't have to excavate a deeper meaning from it.

Some problems need help rather than another adjustment. Pain, persistent symptoms, or distress are reasons to seek appropriate support. You can use a note to explain what happened, but it can't provide the assessment itself.

If you follow a personal plan, session notes can stay with the relevant session in Training. Marking this guide as read records reading progress; it doesn't save your answers as a worksheet or complete a training session.

If you write a separate Journey update, check the audience and choose what to include. A private reflection doesn't need to become a public account of the week.

Come back to the sheet when it will help with another decision. It doesn't need to become daily homework.
